BVE 2014 News: Datavideo's New ITC-200B Introduces New Intercom System at a New Low-Price Point

Jan 27 2014

Supplied complete with headsets and belt packs, ITC-200B delivers intercom and tally functionality to connect the director, production desk and camera crew. In its native form, ITC-200B supports 8 channels; with the addition of the cost-effective ITC-200E, this can be expanded to handle 16 users.

This affordable intercom system includes tally lights to guide the crew as well as the talent in front of the lens. Two-way communication enables the crew to work as a team and to avoid mistakes during complex multi-camera productions and gives the directors the freedom to get the angles they need. Audio feeds sent to the crew can include the sound feed from the production desk in addition to crew comms, to ensure that the team can follow the production live.

"Intercom systems are not a luxury," comments Allan Leonhardsen of Datavideo UK. "Rehearsing and learning camera positions and angles will only go so far in a live production. The unpredictability of a shoot and the need for the director to be constantly creative and responsive, means that communication needs to be team-wide, fluid and immediate. ITC-200B is the cost-effective solution."

Supplied with 4 belt packs each with 20 metre cabling, ITC-200B is a comprehensive solution out of the box. Further headsets, longer cables (up-to 200m) and additional tally indicators are available to suit users' requirements. Built in a 1 rack unit format, the system is simple to install, set up and operate.
