DETUNE Company is a global, full-service live broadcast media and event production agency. Over the past 18 years, they have operated on six continents, executed over 1,200 events, produced over 6,000 hours of live entertainment, and engaged over 126,000,000 fans. They specialize in ESport productions.

DETUNE is producing and broadcasting multiple ESport events weekly due to the increasing popularity. They need equipment that is reliable, compact, and easy to transport for smaller events, so they can take to multiple road shows and events throughout the world. Datavideo’s complete end-to-end, portable live video production and streaming workflows are perfectly suited for Esports.

DETUNE used Datavideo equipment to produce and live stream an ESport event for the Military Gaming League (MGL). They used the HS-3200, 12 channel 1080p Mobile Cast Studio for adding graphics and cutting the show as well as streaming and recording.

“HS-3200 has built-in streaming and recording, so I didn’t have to haul additional equipment to the location. It’s all built into the box, that is compact and easy to transport,” said Endi Maricevic, Senior Technical Supervisor of DETUNE.

To reduce the number of cameras to setup and still provide multiple camera angles DETUNE used the KMU-100, a 4K Multi-camera Processor. The KMU-100 allowed them to use a single 4K camera to get four 1080p regions of interest or cameras angles, which they select using the RMC-185 Controller designed just like a PTZ camera hardware controller.

“KMU-100 is a valued engineered device for us. Instead of having to hire four cameramen, I can get four shots from one 4K camera. It saved us time and money. This will be our go-to workflow for other smaller ESport events in the future,” said Maricevic.

This entire ESport event was powered by Datavideo equipment, including PTZ and block cameras, switcher, streaming encoder, recorder, and monitors. All the equipment fit inside the back of a Prius, so they didn’t have to rent a truck to transport their gear. This compact, live video production and streaming solution from Datavideo streamlined their workflow for smaller events and makes it easy to transport from one event to the next.
