HOW TO UPLOAD STILLS TO THE
SE-650, SE-700, SE-1200, AND HS-1200

NEW METHOD

Please see the following video for a tutorial on how to import still images using our new image import software [PC Only]

  • SE-1200 Image and Clip Import Software, version 0.9.7.5 [PC]
  • Network Connection and Setup Guide

ORIGINAL METHOD

  • Download the PC CONTROL APP from the product page under downloads or use the links below:
  • SE-1200 Control Software/Firmware, version 1.3.3.3 [PC]
  • SE-1200 Control Software/Firmware, version 0.9.6.7 [MAC]

  • This piece of software can also be used to upload stills.

  • Do not run the firmware update in this software utility if using with a product other than the SE-1200, or your product may need to be serviced by Datavideo to restore the keyboard panel.

  • When run for the first time, Windows firewall will ask for permission to access data on the network LAN adapter. Make sure both features are checked and accepted.

  •  Set up your local LAN adapter using the SE-1200 Network Connection Guide. Once connected, return to this article for the remaining steps.

  • Please note that for all models (except the SE-650) the default IP is static and 192.168.100.101.
    The SE-650 uses 192.168.1.101.

  • Note! When a successful connection is established, the lights on the PGM rail will become red and switcher will respond to changes. If it does not, re-check the IP configuration again before you continue.

  • Once the connection is OK, the stills can be uploaded into the switchers' internal memory. For that purpose, we select the SETUP button on the virtual control panel in the app.

  • It is not possible to load them through the switcher's OSD menu.

  • On the top-left there resides the IMPORT-EXPORT section. When clicked, 4 new choices appear in the yellow area for importing stills, clips, user settings and one for exporting.

  • Under STILL, there is a number which is the slot number to where the still is saved.

  • Pick any slot between 0 and 500. Existing stills will be overwritten without warning.

  • You can view thumbnails of all loaded stills in the STILLS submenu on the virtual panel to see which slots are free or OK to overwrite.

  • Then under Select, click IMPORT STILL, to open the browse window. There you can navigate to your images. In the bottom right, choose the right file type you are navigating for to view the corresponding file types.

  • The pixel size must match the video resolution standard your switcher is set to: 1920x1080 or 1280x720.

If you don't see any image files in the folder you select, make sure the file format drop down menu matches the format of your image file. The default is .pic, but most graphics are .jpg or .png.

  • Once they are loaded into the internal memory, they can be accessed through the devices' STILLS submenu or the PC CONTROL app and will stay in the memory even when the power is off.

  • To assign the loaded stills, select STILLS, choose the Still slot number, and choose the destination where you want the still to load.

  • Finally press Load Still and enter to confirm (in device menu it will light up red shortly).

  • After that you can use it as any other video input source.

  • Also the input can be processed such as chroma or luma keyed to get transparency if required. PNG files support linear self keying so you can key the graphic using its embedded alpha channel.

  • If you want to revert to live inputs again, just go to the INPUTS section and at the freeze area, set all inputs to live.
